Job Title: Server Operations Engineer
Job Description (partial): In the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, the top candidate for this position will provide the bulk of day to day requests, maintenance and general Server and Back-end Application issues. Successful candidate will need to perform the essential functions of the job: The position’s major role is to reduce disturbance of senior staff by handling the day to day requests such as exchange mailbox creation/deletions, group policy administration assistance, file/print services including NTFS permissions, simple file restores, FTP account creation/maintenance, rack/stack server equipment, maintenance of server rooms and providing Tier II support for our Desktop Support Team which may include desktop or peripheral devices they may need assistance with. Daily activities including but not limited to: O/S patching, backups/restorations, antivirus, malware, web filtering, active directory, group policy, mail services, health monitoring and break/fix for hardware in server/SAN(s) environment. Create/Maintain procedures for software/hardware installations including testing/validating proper operation on server hardware and/or distributed deployments to end points Requires use of our current ticketing system to keep track of work items, SLA, priorities, documentation of work performed and follow-up to our customers Monitor proactively for predictive failures and trends that will aid in capacity planning and enhanced resource availability Communicates with appropriate people using most effective medium whenever there is an issue or a possible outage of service. This includes notification when issue or outage has been resolved. Advises Director, Server Operations of any issues that affect our delivery of services to our customers promptly. In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required: Associate’s degree or equivalent; and/or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
